Ynst Magazine
YNST Magazine is a quarterly print publication focused on uplifting and showcasing the unseen and unheard talents of Appalachian artists, creatives and visionaries. As Editorial Director, I shepherd the narrative of each issue alongside the Editor-in-Chief, savoring in-depth storytelling and innovative features. In addition to overseeing a team of editors, I often assist with many of the graphic elements of the magazine. Check some of those out below! Graphic Design & Illustration
After teaching myself how to use Adobe Illustrator, I started creating my own digital illustrations, as well as taking commissioned pieces. As I've gained more knowledge and experience, I've been given the opportunity to create Playbills for both West Virginia Public Theatre and Oglebay Institute; 2026 show seasons incoming!
Salon Marketing
As marketing assistant at Tonique's Trilogy Salon & Spa in Morgantown, WV, I am responsible for creating eye-catching graphics and flyers for clients to promote in-salon specials, stylists' availabilities and more.
The Daily Athenaeum
For two years, I worked as the head page designer at the student newspaper at WVU. I started in the midst of the COVID-pandemic, so it was only a small team that consisted of myself, another designer, the editor-in-chief and assistant editor. Spanning from news, culture, sports, opinion and photo, I tackled the design weekly for print.
Mirage Magazine
During my first year at WVU, I eagerly joined Mirage Magazine: a student-run club that created their own beauty, culture, lifestyle magazine every semester. From writing to design to photography, it was solely our own. For four years, I was able to hone my writing and editing skills, and I even taught myself how to use Adobe Illustrator to create my own graphics for the mag. Then, came InDesign to start designing pages. My love for magazines grew from Mirage, and I'm so grateful for all the scrappy little issues we were able to come up with between classes and life in college.
